On Monday, Dec. 26, officers responded to a call for two young teenagers who had fallen in a frozen creek around 2:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found one child who had made it safely to shore, with the other still submerged and clinging to a piling.
Officers were able to get the child to safety and get him to an ambulance where they learned that the second child did not fall into the creek, but jumped in in a heroic attempt to save his friend.
